The Oregon Trail is an extremely interesting topic to read and learn about. The students will:
- write and define what the Oregon Trail was
- define and write about the "jumping off" points and where they were
- describe the hardships that the emigrants faced
- write and draw the supplies and resources the emigrants needed for their journey and include the weight of the items
- show the route of the Oregon Trail on a US map by drawing the beginning of the trail, the end of the trail, and the route that was traveled. They will also create a map key with historic landmarks along the trail.

- Writing - the students will pretend they are an emigrant on the Oregon Trail and create diary entries of their struggles and events that took place during their long journey {this page is optional}
