Get your students ready to APPLY their new knowledge of fractions by creating A Fraction Flower Word Problem Craftivity!
This mini-unit can be used as a culminating activity to your unit on fractions. This craftivity allows the students to apply what they have learned about fractions and word problems by creating a Fraction Flower word problem craft.
This mini-unit includes:
- Directions for use
- Full color photographs so you can see the final result.
- Blackline printable TRACERS that you can use to make Tracer Templates for your students. The students will use the tracers and cut out the flower shapes on construction paper to construct their fraction flower. They will need to create a Word Problem for the center of the flower using their knowledge of fractions.
- The Blacklines can also be colored using markers or crayons if you would like this to be a quicker craftivity instead of making the flowers out of construction paper.
When all of the Fraction Flowers are done, I put them on a bulletin board titled A Garden Full of Fraction Flowers.
I allow the students to go into the hallway with their math log and answer all of their peers' fraction flower word problems and we then review them as a class.
The bulletin board display looks beautiful when it is completed!
