1 E-N-E-R-G-Y Flip-Flap Book® - The students will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned about different forms of energy. This book is to be used as an EXTENSION and/or expository writing resource to your lessons and/or experiments on Forms of Energy.
They will:
- define energy
- names different forms of energy
- define sound energy
- explain how sound energy is made
- draw and label objects that create sound energy
- define magnetic energy
- draw magnets repelling and label the poles
- draw magnets attracting and label the poles
- draw and label 4 different objects that are attracted to magnets
- define light energy
- 2 different pages are given for light energy
- draw 4 pictures of objects that produce light and label them draw a picture of light being reflected, refracted, & absorbed OR
- draw 4 pictures of objects that produce light and label them
- illustrate the meaning of the words transparent, translucent, & opaque
- define heat energy
- draw and label 4 things that have heat energy and label them
- ENERGY CAN CHANGE
- draw 2 examples of energy changing forms and label the pictures and the forms of energy that are changing

- This page does NOT have to be used if you do not teach this.

- draw a picture illustrating kinetic energy and write a caption for the illustration

- {Optional Page} there is an additional page that can be added to the last page of the flip flap book®.
- It is an opinion writing piece where the students will write their opinion on the most important form of energy and support their opinion with researched-based reasons.
- There is a graphic organizer included for the student to organize their writing and a rough draft page as well. The final copy of their opinion paragraph can be attached to the last page of the flip flap book®.
Please Note: This unit requires 8 1/2 x 11 AND 8 1/2 x 14 (legal size) photocopy paper. In order to print this unit, you will need BOTH SIZES OF PAPER!
