1 C-R-A-Y-F-I-S-H Flip Flap Book® - The students will have the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned about CRAYFISH.
{Please note: In order to complete this resource, you should have LIVE CRAYFISH in your classroom in order to complete the measurements}
They will:
- observe a crayfish
- draw a realistic illustration after their observation
- they will weigh their crayfish using gram cubes and a balance scale
- they will measure their crayfish using centimeters and inches
- they will define key terms for this unit - habitat, crayfish, exoskeleton, scavenger, food chain, and nocturnal
- compare a crayfish to a human; comparisons - skeletons, breathing, food/drink, rest/sleep, appendages, and senses
- label a diagram of a crayfish
- they will research facts about their crayfish using books and/or the internet and complete a graphic organizer
- write a descriptive paragraph about crayfish using the research they completed
