Commas
This Commas Teach-Its® unit includes a rigorous, fun, and engaging lesson to help you teach this difficult skill to your students.
This unit includes:
☞ a scripted standards-based Lesson Plan that includes Learning Targets, Materials, Standards, and a scripted lesson plan to help you effectively teach about how and where to use commas in your writing
☞ a whole group Active Engagement activity to engage and excite your students to help them learn about commas. The students will become DETECTIVES and begin their search to find the COMMA CULPRIT! The students will roam around the room to solve the Case of the Comma Culprit as they add commas in the correct place in a sentence based on the comma rules in their Detective Book. Each time the students solve a sentence, they get a new LETTER that they will add to their Case Booklet where they are trying to figure out where the COMMA CULPRIT hid all the commas in the classroom.
☞ an Independent Activity where the students will complete a Commas Tab-Its® Booklet so that they can practice where commas belong on various writing activities
