This Adjectives Teach-Its® unit includes a rigorous, fun, and engaging lesson to help you teach this skill to your students.
This unit includes:
☞ a Scripted Standards-Based Lesson Plan that includes Learning Targets, Materials, Standards, and a scripted lesson plan to help you effectively teach about what adjectives are and how adjectives are used
☞ a Whole Group Active Engagement Activity to engage and excite your students to help them learn about adjectives. You will engage your students by showing them pictures (included) where the students will describe the animals and people in the picture and create a brainstorming list on chart paper. You will help them understand that they are describing nouns.
Then you will do a read aloud of the story Hairy, Scary, Ordinary by Brian Cleary (not included) or any picture book you have on adjectives.
☞ a Guided Practice Activity where the students will play an I have, Who Has game with adjectives in small groups or whole group
☞ an Independent Practice Activity where the students will complete a mini-book of adjectives where they will be writing sentences where they will be writing sentences with adjectives and nouns
