This Adverbs Teach-Its® unit includes a rigorous, fun, and engaging lesson to help you teach this difficult skill to your students.
This unit includes:
☞ a Scripted Standards-Based Lesson Plan that includes Learning Targets, Materials, Standards, and a scripted lesson plan to help you effectively teach about what adverbs are and how adverbs are used
☞ a Whole Group Active Engagement Activity to engage and excite your students to help them learn about adverbs. You will engage your students with a super fun HOOK into the adverbs activity, which will lead into a brainstorming activity.
Then you will conduct a read-aloud of the picture book, Dearly, Nearly, Insincerely by Brian Cleary (not included) or any book on adverbs.
☞ a Guided Practice Activity where the students will play a game of charades where the students will get one or two verb cards where they will "act out" their word the students will write a sentence using the very AND and adverb to modify the verb. They will write these sentences on sentences strips. Then the other students in the class must pick out the adverb in the sentence and tell if the adverb tells HOW, HOW OFTEN, WHERE or WHEN.
☞ an Independent Practice Activity where the students will complete and Tab-Its® Interactive Notebook Activity on Adverbs where they will practice the skill they just learned independently.
