1 V-E-R-B-S Flip Flap Book® - The students will brainstorm different VERBS and apply their new schema by creating detailed sentences.
They will:
- write what a VERB is
- brainstorm different verbs to complete the graphic organizer
- choose an animal and complete the page called What can this animal do and then write a sentence using the animal and a verb in the sentence
- choose 2 types of people (doctor, vet, teacher, etc.) and brainstorm verbs that the people can do and write a detailed sentence that includes both people and two verbs

1 A-D-J-E-C-T-I-V-E-S Flip Flap Book® - The students will brainstorm different adjectives and apply their new schema by creating detailed sentences that will increase in difficulty
They will:
- write what an adjective is
- describe different nouns by adding an adjective before the noun
- describe an ice cream cone on a graphic organizer and write a sentence including two adjectives
- describe an alien and spaceship using adjectives and then write a detailed sentence including both nouns and two adjectives
- describe a firefighter and a firetruck using adjectives and then write a detailed sentence including both nouns and two adjectives
- describe a toucan and the rainforest using adjectives and then write a detailed sentence including both nouns and two adjectives
- describe a vet and a bulldog using adjectives and then write a detailed sentence including both nouns and two adjectives
- describe a farmer, a cornfield, and corn using adjectives and then write a detailed sentence including all three nouns and three adjectives
- choose 3 nouns (a person, place, and thing) that are all related, describe the nouns, and create a detailed sentence including all three nouns and three adjectives

- they will describe how and when a person jumps and write a sentence using TWO adverbs they wrote
- they will describe how and when a person sings and write a sentence using TWO adverbs they wrote
- they will describe where and how a person writes and write a sentence using TWO adverbs
